Ayr Utd. vs Forfar Athletic preview - Campbell sidelined for leaders

League One leaders Ayr will be without Martyn Campbell when they welcome second placed Forfar to Somerset Park.

Campbell will miss out for the Honest Men due to work commitments but Peter Murphy returns to partner Kevin McKinlay in defence.

Player/manager Mark Roberts said: "We have made a good start but we will not get carried away. We have played well in our two league games so far and we want to keep that level of performance for as long as possible however it will not be easy against Forfar.

"They are a good side who know how to squeeze wins out of games but we have players that can hurt them and hopefully they will."

Forfar head to Ayrshire with a fully-fit squad after Mark Baxter was passed fit with manager Dick Campbell looking for his side to hit the form that saw off title favourites Dunfermline 2-0 last weekend.

Campbell said: "It was a deserved win and we are looking to build on it at Ayr. Dale Hilson scored a wonder goal to send us on our way and hopefully he has something up his sleeve for this game."

"Ayr are doing very well this season and we will need to play well to beat them. Similarly if we play like we can they will need to play very well to beat us."
