Argentinian forward Carlos Tevez's adoptive father, who was kidnapped after the car he was travelling in was intercepted in Moron, on the western outskirts of Buenos Aires, has been released.
In a short statement made to local media outlets, the family's lawyer, Gustavo Galass, noted that Segundo Tevez had been freed and was holding up well in the circumstances. The family is believed to have paid out a large ransom to secure his release.
"He was held captive for around eight hours, during which time the family received at least two calls from the kidnappers demanding a big-money ransom", Argentinian broadsheet 'Clarin' reported.
