Bayern to play Wolfsburg in Telekom Cup final

Hamburg (AFP) - German champions Bayern Munich advanced to the final of the pre-season Telekom Cup tournament on Saturday after beating Borussia Moenchengladbach on penalties following a 2-2 draw in Hamburg.
Bayern, who edged Moenchengladbach 5-4 in a shootout, will face Wolfsburg in Sunday's final after they saw off Hamburg 6-5 on penalties after a goalless draw.
New recruit Robert Lewandowski, a prized acquisition from Borussia Dortmund this summer, scored Bayern's opening goal on 29 minutes before Franck Ribery added a quick-fire second.
But a brace from Max Kruse -- both of which came from the penalty spot -- hauled Moenchengladbach level before spot-kicks were eventually required to separate the sides.
Stand-in Bayern goalkeeper Tom Starke kept out Oscar Wendt's effort to keep Pep Guardiola's side alive in the shootout before Julian Korb struck the crossbar to hand Bayern victory.
