Higuain: "Alfredo was always very close to me"

Higuain:

Gonzalo Higuain spoke about his bond with Alfredo di Stefano, calling his health problems bad news for football and wishing the Argentinian legend a speedy recovery.

"This isn't good news for us or for football. I have a great deal of respect and affection for Alfredo", Higuaín stated after the Argentina-Belgium match.

Former Real Madrid striker Higuain went on to say that his fellow Argentine was "always very close" to him during his spell at the Bernabeu from 2006 to 2012, adding that he only has "words of gratitude" for Di Stefano.
