A broken-looking Luis Suarez pictured at Uruguay team hotel after learning of his 4-month ban from football

With Luis Suarez receiving a 4-month ban from football, ruling him out of the rest of the World Cup, these are pretty powerful images, of the reaction from the Uruguay camp to the news, and of the man himself.

Suarez, wearing an orange Puma training bib, looked a broken man as he walked along the outdoor corridor of the team hotel, receiving an embrace from a member of the coaching staff.

In one image, Suarez can be seen giving a meek thumbs up to fans outside, while in another, he’s almost tragi-comically snapped underneath an Exit sign.

It’s clear it’s all sinking in, as he indulges in some very deep soul-searching, left to wonder how he could have resorted to biting an opponent again.

By the look on his face, not even he knows the answer…
