Forget Balotelli, this is the striker Arsenal MUST sign this summer

So, the big Arsenal news on Friday was that AC Milan have reportedly agreed to sell Mario Balotelli to us, if we offer £29million.

The Italian is one of Arsene Wenger’s main transfer targets this summer, and most fans are licking their lips at the prospect of him playing in our red and white next term.

I agree. I think Balotelli would be a great signing but, just hours after the news broke, we saw exactly why he shouldn't be our main priority.

The former Manchester City man turned in an entirely forgettable performance for Italy against Costa Rica, as they lost, while shortly after, another Arsenal transfer target absolutely shone for his country.

Karim Benzema ripped Switzerland apart and turned in another amazing display, as France won 5-2. The Real Madrid man was first-class, but also showed real promise playing alongside Olivier Giroud.

I'm a big fan of Balotelli, but Benzema is the man Arsenal must go all out for this summer.

In action for the French, you can see how much better he plays when he's the main man, which he would be in north London, and the prospect of him leading our line is mouth-watering.

Madrid seem to be open to letting Benzema leave for the right price, so I say let's throw everything at them and try to do business.

If a deal can't be done, go and get Balotelli, but Benzema is maturing nicely into one of the best strikers in the world - and chances to grab him are unlikely to come around too often.
