ARSENAL have lodged a stunning £25m bid for AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli.
LION TAMER: Balotelli celebrates his winner against England on Saturday night
It comes as news that will excite fans of the Premier League but could raise concerns for some Gooners as Balotelli's reputation goes before him.
But the Gunners are facing a tough battle from money-bags Monaco who also want the Italian ace.
Reports suggest the 23-year-old has been told he can leave AC as new manager Filippo Inzaghi looks to the future.
Monaco are thought to be willing to offer injured Colombian forward Radamel Falcao but the money, doubled with Falcao's wage demands, could mean the Gunners' offer is more attractive to the Italian club.
Arsenal signed a mega-money kit deal with Puma last season, which has come into effect this year.
Puma also have a deal with Balotelli and it is being reported that the kit manufacturer may be willing to help finance the deal to bring the striker to the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger has been backed to spend big and spend right by club chief executive Ivan Gazidis and this could be one of many forays into the transfer market this summer.
