With a Champions League title under his wing, Gareth Bale arrived on Asian soil. The Welshman is on a promotional tour of the south-east Asian country and according to British media, will pocket nearly five million euros in just a few days once he's completed a number of publicity events.
His arrival was akin to that of a film star, surrounded by fans who desperately tried to touch the '100 million euro man'. So great was the desire of some to meet Bale that they spent three million rupees, just short of 190 euros, for a ticket to the exclusive meet and greet organised by the Dua Kelinci company.
The Welshman began with a message to his followers: "I'm really happy at Real Madrid and next year I'm sure I'll be better".
The scorer of two decisive goals in the two finals which Real Madrid played this season, Bale hopes he can justify the hefty price 'Los Blancos' paid for his services more often.
The Real Madrid winger also revealed in Jakarta his main hope for the coming season: "We want to retain the Champions League next season and become the first team to win two consecutively".
