The 22-year-old is expected to return to Chelsea to provide competition for Petr Cech - but the Spanish club insists the goalkeeper want to remain with them for a fourth season
Atletico Madrid CEO Gil Marin claims Thibaut Courtois wants to remain at the club next season.
The 22-year-old has spent the last three years on loan with the Spanish champions but is set to return to Chelsea this summer and provide competition for Petr Cech, who could miss the start of next season as he continues to recover from a dislocated shoulder.
Courtois has already claimed that returning to Stamford Bridge with Cech still in the side "is not the healthiest thing in the world".
"He wants to stay and that's what he said to his coach," Marin told reporters after Atletico's Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.
"But it does not depend on him and Chelsea’s goalkeeper is injured."
