FRANK LAMPARD is still hoping to sign a new Chelsea deal - despite being on the official list of players being released by the club.
NEW DEAL: Frank Lampard is still in line to secure a new deal with Chelsea
Lampard's existing contract runs out at the end of June and the club published his name alongside the likes of Samuel Eto'o as those players leaving.
But Starsport understands the England midfielder is in talks over a new one-year deal to keep him in Jose Mourinho's squad for another season.
Lampard, 35, has spent 13 years at Stamford Bridge in which time he has become the club's highest ever goalscorer despite operating in midfield.
And though he can longer be first choice in all matches throughout the season, boss Mourinho still sees him as a valuable player who can have an impact in the biggest games.
That is why he advised Chelsea to begin talks over a new contract, and now Lampard is taking his time to weigh up his options.

Neither is in a huge rush to get a deal signed and agreed with Lampard now away with England focusing on the World Cup.
But talks have gone well and both parties are confident he will still be a Chelsea player when the new season kicks off at the end of August.
