Stranraer vs Dunfermline preview - Stranraer skipper rated doubtful

Stranraer have suffered a major scare ahead of their play-off first leg against Dunfermline with captain Frank McKeown rated as a serious doubt due to a calf problem.

Long-term injury victims Marc Corcoran (hip) and Chris Aitken (ankle) remain out, however former Dunfermline player Steven Bell could start after shaking off a knock.

Blues manager Stephen Aitken said: "There has not been a lot between Dunfermline and us this season, however we are massive underdogs to knock them out.

"We have had a brilliant season and it would be great to keep that going. We will have a real go at Dunfermline to try and make that happen."

Dunfermline will select a more experienced team at Stair Park after a youthful-looking side held League One champions Rangers to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Ross Forbes is available after suspension and a host of players rested at the weekend will be involved.

However, Lawrence Shankland and Ryan Wallace remain out with groin injuries with Jordan Moore continuing to be absent as he battles against skin cancer.

Manager Jim Jefferies said: "We may have beaten Stranraer three times this season but every win was close. In the game they defeated us we made mistakes and I am hoping for an error-free performance this time out."
