Dundee vs Dumbarton preview - Dundee chase title without Davidson

Dundee will be without the banned Iain Davidson as they look to clinch their first title since 1998 by beating Dumbarton at Dens Park.

Injuries rule out Stephen O'Donnell (knee) and Steven Doris (groin), but Kyle Benedictus has returned to fitness and is included in manager Paul Hartley's plans.

Hartley said: "We have stuck to our usual build-up to keep things as normal as possible for the players.

"The players have trained hard and are ready to go out and win the game.

"It will not be easy as Dumbarton are a well-drilled side who are very dangerous when they go forward. We will have to play well."

The Sons head to Dundee with a fully-fit and suspension-free squad and the slimmest of hopes of being involved in the play-offs.

Manager Ian Murray said: "I cannot see us overcoming the goal difference Queen of the South have, so we can go to Dens Park and play without any pressure.

"That is the approach we used against Hamilton last week and it worked well.

"We are due a bit of luck against Dundee as we have had none all season, so you never know we may get a break in this game.

"Whatever happens Dumbarton have had a terrific season and finishing fifth is a great achievement."
