Cowdenbeath vs Queen of the South preview - Nicholl keeps the faith

Cowdenbeath midfielder Sammy Stewart will play no part as the club look to retain their Championship status with victory against Queen of the South.

Stewart will miss out due to an ankle injury but boss Jimmy Nicholl has no other injury or suspension worries.

Nicholl said: "Matters are not in our hands, however we have given ourselves a chance after winning our last two games.

"We looked dead and buried after heavy defeats to Falkirk and Dundee, but the players have rallied.

"Hopefully they can rally again and get us another win.

"If we do that and survive it will be fantastic, but if Alloa go to Falkirk and win we will say well done to them and start preparing for the play-offs."

Queen of the South, all but assured of a play-off place, will be without suspended pair Mark Durnan and Derek Lyle.

Stephen McKenna is ruled out with a hip injury and Mark Kerr, Michael Paton and Gavin Reilly are all doubtful.

Manager Jim McIntyre said: "We will be in the play-offs unless we lose by a dozen goals and I cannot see that happening.

"However we will be treating this game as we have all our other games this season and be looking for the win.

"We have won our last two games and I want to be looking for promotion with a lot of positive momentum."
