East Fife 1 : 2 Brechin City - Fife sweating on saftey
Posted Sunday, April 27, 2014 by PA
Brechin scored in each half to secure a 2-1 victory and leave East Fife sweating on their League One future.
The visitors hit the front on 20 minutes through Andy Jackson's 14th goal of the season after the officials ruled his header from Ryan Ferguson's ball in had crossed the line.
The game was in the balance right up until Alan Trouten doubled Brechin's advantage with a low right-footed strike two minutes from time.
Pat Clarke's close-range finish in injury time pulled one back for East Fife but it came too late to prevent a third straight defeat which meant they remained only one point above bottom-placed Arbroath with one game to play.
