Alloa Athletic 0 : 3 Dundee - Vital win sends Dees top

Dundee top-scorer Peter MacDonald scored a goal either side of half-time to help send his team roaring to the top of the Scottish Championship with a 3-0 win at Alloa.
The hosts went close to an early opener but Graeme Holmes saw his effort saved by Kyle Letheren when through on goal before Christian Nade volleyed wide with the goal at his mercy at the other end.
Dundee made the all-important breakthrough, though, when Peter MacDonald nodded Kevin Mcbride's corner beyond Scott Bain to send the visitors into the break with a slender one-goal lead.
The visitors dominated the second half and got their reward when Alloa's Darryl Meggatt handled inside the area and MacDonald duly converted from 12 yards before Craig Beattie added a third with a neat run and finish to secure a vital three points for the Dees.
