Real Betis vs Real Sociedad preview - Calderon: Betis need a miracle

Real Betis coach Gabriel Calderon admits only a miracle can save the club from relegation - and he is not expecting one.

Calderon's side face Real Sociedad, who are chasing a European place, but a victory for Getafe against Malaga could see the Seville club relegated anyway.

Calderon told a news conference: "If it turns out we are relegated, and that situation is close and I do not expect miracles, it would of course be a huge disappointment, the worst moment of my career. The sadness for me would be huge."

The Argentinian said that he had not held any talks about his future if the club are relegated.

He added: "We have not discussed anything, and now is not the time to do so. We will talk about everything in due course and that is not something that worries me."

Calderon also spoke about Brazilian defender Paulao, who asked to be substituted after making two mistakes which cost goals in the 3-1 defeat by Rayo Vallecano.

He said: "The player has been affected by what happened, but mentally he is well and I think he may be able contribute tomorrow."

Real Sociedad will have leading scorer Antoine Griezmann and Inigo back from suspension, and Xabi Prieto from injury, but Granero, Pardo and Hervias are all out.
