Falkirk 2 : 1 Raith Rovers - Bairns boost title bid
Posted Sunday, April 20, 2014 by PA
Title chasers Falkirk held off Raith to win 2-1 at Falkirk Stadium.
The Bairns welcomed back Rory Loy from suspension and he made an instant impact when he found the net after 19 minutes.
They were 2-0 up only four minutes when later when Conor McGrandles found the top corner with what looked to be a cross.
Raith pulled a goal back when John Baird's shot was deflected into his own net by Will Vaulks.
Gary Holt's side should have extended their lead shortly after half-time but Loy shot straight at Raith goalkeeper Lee Robinson.
Rovers did not manage a shot on target and in the end it was a comfortable victory for Falkirk who are now two points off top spot with two games remaining.
