East Fife 1 : 2 Stenhousemuir - Higgins on the spot

A 90th-minute penalty from Sean Higgins fired Stenhousemuir into the play-off mix after it sealed a 2-1 win at struggling East Fife.

Fife's Stephen O'Neill went close after he found space in the six-yard box and the home side were soon put into a first-half lead by Stephen Hughes after he lashed Kevin Smith's cross past Chris Smith in the visitors' goal.

A corner from Higgins was headed home by Sean Dickson to put the sides level with 20 minutes remaining and there were few clear-cut chances until the final minute, when David Cowan fouled Josh Watt in the box.

Higgins stepped up to fire his spot-kick down the middle and extend his side's unbeaten run to 10 games, putting the Warriors level on points with fourth-placed Ayr.
