Brechin City 1 : 1 Airdrie United - Molloy on target once more

Posted Sunday, April 13, 2014 by PA

Craig Molloy scored for the second consecutive week as Brechin drew 1-1 with Airdrie, meaning neither side was able to confirm their safety.

The visitors had lost just one of their last 12 fixtures going into this game and Caolan McAleer forced Graeme Smith into a smart save after 10 minutes.

Their early dominance was rewarded nine minutes before half-time through James Lister's superb lob.

But the hosts hit back seven minutes after half-time when Molloy found space outside the area to rifle in his third of the season.

Keigan Parker missed for Airdrie from a tight angle with 18 minutes to go, and went even closer in stoppage time but Smith was in the way to block his effort.
