Dunfermline guaranteed a second-place finish in Scottish League One despite only managing a 0-0 draw with Forfar.

It was their second straight game without scoring but third-placed Stranraer were defeated at Arbroath so they cannot now be overtaken.

In a first half of few chances, Lewis Martin headed wide for the hosts after 20 minutes and, just a couple of minutes later, Allan Smith failed to hit the target from close range.

Dale Hilson's superb shot for the visitors drifted wide just after half-time and Ryan Williamson missed the target for Dunfermline midway through the half.

Neither goalkeeper was called into action until the 80th minute when Chris Duggan let fly from close range but Ryan Scully saved easily as they game ended in a stalemate.
