Livingston 1 : 1 Hamilton FC - Accies' title hopes hit

Posted Sunday, April 13, 2014 by PA

Hamilton's title hopes were hit as they were replaced at the top of the Scottish Championship by Dundee after a 1-1 draw with Livingston.

Livi forward Marc McNulty was denied by Hamilton stopper Kevin Cuthbert with an early shot and he later squandered another chance to put his side into a lead on the half-hour mark, when he slammed a penalty against the crossbar.

The Accies were reduced to 10 men less than 10 minutes into the second half after Stephen Hendrie received his marching orders following his second yellow card.

And Kyle Jacobs put Livingston ahead just after the hour, firing low inside the box past Cuthbert.

Hamilton's late equaliser came four minutes from time after Darian Mackinnon put through the former Swansea and Wigan forward to rescue his side a point, with a neat finish high into the goal.

However, with Dundee winning against Cowdenbeath Accies slip to second place
