Sergio Aguero will overshadow Suarez this weekend - Manchester City's Manuel Pellegrini

MANUEL PELLEGRINI has backed Sergio Aguero to win his South American shoot-out with Luis Suarez.

The two hot-shots come face-to-face tomorrow when Manchester City meet Liverpool at Anfield.

The Reds lead Manuel Pellegrini's men by four points at the top of the table but the visitors still have two games in hand.

City must find a way to stop the in-form Suarez, who has scored a stunning 29 goals this season including six in his last six games.

But Pellegrini has a sharp-shooter of his own in Aguero, who is set to be unleashed on the Reds are overcoming a hamstring problem.

The Argentine star has plundered 26 goals himself this season despite being sidelined for the last month.

His return is a huge boost for Pellegrini, who reckons his record-signing can outshine Suarez and be impossible for the Reds defence to stop.

The Chilean said: "Sergio is OK. He has worked the whole week with the squad normally and he doesn't have any problems.

"He is very important for us. We know Sergio is a top player, he is a player that it is very difficult for the other defences to stop, so he is very important for us.

"You always miss important players like Sergio Aguero."

Whoever wins this clash will take a giant stride towards landing the title, but Pellegrini is convinced the result won't decide who goes on to become champions.

Pellegrini, who admits he held talks about becoming the Liverpool boss when he left Real Madrid in 2010, added: "It is a very important game against one of the teams at the top of the table.

"Liverpool are having a wonderful season so it is a very big game and a very important game.

"But it is not a game that will decide the title, it is a very important game but we can beat Liverpool and after if we lose against Sunderland we are not going to win the title.

"So it is a very important game because we play against the team at the top of the table, but I think if we think this game is more important than next week we are not going to win the title.

"Of course the teams that wins this game has more chance to win the title because the team that wins has three points more.

"But if you think that with this you will finish the Premier League it is a mistake."
