Dumbarton 4 : 1 Alloa Athletic - Sons rise again

Posted Sunday, April 06, 2014 by PA

Dumbarton bounced back from their loss at Morton to beat Alloa 4-1 at the Bet Butler Stadium.

Colin Nash set Mark Gilhaney up for his first goal since August to give the Sons the lead after 25 minutes and Garry Fleming doubled the home side's lead early in the second-half, firing low past Scott Bain from close range.

Moments after their second, Nish could have made it three but his header was straight at Bain and he tested the visiting goalkeeper again with an 18-yard drive as the Sons pressed for another.

Scott Agnew increased their lead with his fourth of the season and Nish found Chris Kane, who fired in from close range to make it four.

Five minutes later Liam Caddis scored a consolation goal for the visitors with a low finish with just two minutes remaining.
