Greenock Morton 3 : 0 Dumbarton - Ton win to fight another day
Posted Wednesday, April 02, 2014 by PA
Morton staved off relegation for another week at least with a 3-0 win over Dumbarton, bringing an end to a run of six successive defeats.
The hosts needed just under quarter-of-an-hour to grab their first goal in 200 minutes of football when the much-travelled Rowan Vine met David Robertson's cross to head beyond Sons keeper Jamie Ewings.
Morton doubled their advantage seven minutes before the interval when Barrie McKay's delivery was nodded into the bottom corner by Thomas O'Ware for his first goal of the season.
Kenny Shiels' side wrapped up their fourth win of the season with less than an hour played when McKay was allowed to run 35 yards with the ball before slotting it past Ewings to seal all three points.
