Serie A player adopting baby abandoned on a train

An abandoned baby was discovered in a bag under a seat in the last car of a train going from Naples to Avellino last week by the conductor and his wife. The child was taken to a hospital, where a nurse named him Carmine, and found to be in good condition. Efforts to find baby Carmine's parents failed and his name was extended to Carmine Francesco in honor of the Pope.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sassuolo striker Antonio Floro Flores saw a story about Carmine Francesco on television and contacted the hospital caring for him with an offer of financial assistance. He and his wife then decided that wasn't enough and are now in the process of trying to adopt the baby.
From Football Italia:
'After seeing the profile of little Francesco, we followed what our hearts told us,' wrote Floro Flores on Twitter.
'Before being a player, I am a father. I’m certainly not a hero! We are going through the regular procedures.'
Since Floro Flores tweeted that on Friday, he has received a wave of well-wishes, congratulations and arguments against his claim of not being a hero.

Floro Flores and his wife Michela, who will hopefully get the credit she deserves in this as well, already have two daughters and a son of their own. So if the adoption goes through they'll have a nice even number.
