Chievo 3 : 0 Bologna - Chievo claim vital win

Chievo claimed a crucial three points in their battle to avoid relegation after swatting aside fellow Serie A strugglers Bologna 3-0 on Wednesday night.
Alberto Paloschi's brace and a last-minute effort by Luca Rigoni saw Chievo to an impressive win that vaults them out of the bottom three.
They are now one place and one point above Bologna, who occupy the last position of safety above the drop zone and hold a two-point advantage over third-bottom Livorno.
Chievo launched quickly out of the blocks on a key night at Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi and were ahead inside seven minutes when Gyorgy Garics fouled Matteo Rubin in the area and Paloschi thumped in the resulting penalty.
Victor Obinna almost doubled the lead on 36 minutes but Gianluca Curci was equal to his strike from outside the area.
Obinna's free-kick in the opening moments of the second period almost produced another opening, the ball coming to Bostjan Cesar in front of goal but he could only fire over with just Curci to beat.
A largely toothless display by Bologna briefly improved when Archimede Morleo flashed a shot just too high and Rene Krhin headed over, but Chievo always looked the more likely to add to the scoring and did so in the 79th minute when Paloschi scored at the second time of asking after his initial header from a cross was saved by Curci.
And the win was wrapped up with 89 minutes on the clock when Dario Dainelli laid off for Rigoni who sent a deft chip beyond the goalkeeper.
