Alloa vs Falkirk preview - Alloa to investigate Holmes

Alloa boss Barry Smith will finalise his team to take on visitors Falkirk after a late check is made on Graeme Holmes, who has been struggling with a back complaint.

Ankle injuries keep James Creaney and Derek Riordan out while Jason Marr (thigh) remains absent.

Smith said: "Last week against Queen of the South we passed the ball around well and should take confidence from that.

"We went behind and could not get level as we never got on the end of some dangerous crosses. Hopefully we will win against Falkirk."

Falkirk will look to bounce back from losing to fellow title chasers Hamilton last weekend and they have Mark Millar and Phil Roberts available after suspension to help their cause.

Thomas Grant remains out after illness, though.

Technical Director Alex Smith said: "This is a very important game as both sides need the points but for different reasons. They want to ensure safety and we want to keep the pressure on Dundee and Hamilton.

"There have been two draws between the sides this season and it would be great for Falkirk to get the first win at this crucial stage. However, it will not be easy as they will battle."
