Airdrieonians scraped past relegation rivals Arbroath 1-0 in an ill-tempered affair as both sides ended the game with 10 men.
The hosts came closest to opening the scoring inside the first 10 minutes when Robert Linn saw his header well saved by Grant Adam.
Darren McCormack responded for the Diamonds but he too saw his effort well kept out at the opposite end by Sandy Wood.
But they did take the lead just after the half-hour mark when James Lister rose highest to head home Caolan McAleer's corner kick.
McAleer was shown a straight red card after 63 minutes for a challenge on Michael Travis, before Richard Little levelled things up when he saw red for his challenge on Lister deep into stoppage time.
