Second-placed Hamilton host Falkirk in third with player-manager Alex Neil again missing due to a groin injury.
Lee Kilday is also absent for the clash with an ankle problem.
Neil said: "Falkirk had the better of us in recent seasons, however this year we have turned that around with two wins and a draw. We are obviously looking to add to that with another win.
"We played well in our draw at Queen of the South last weekend and if we can just have a bit more of a cutting edge in this game we will get the three points."
Falkirk striker Phil Roberts won his appeal against his dismissal against Livingston last weekend, but he will miss out against the Accies as he was due to serve a suspension already.
Mark Millar is also banned but Blair Alston is in line for a start after a calf injury.
Technical director Alex Smith said: "Hamilton are a very similar club to us in terms of giving youngsters a chance. It is good that the two of us are doing so well in this league.
"Hopefully we can get the better of them for the first time this season and move above them in the table."
