Dunfermline 0 : 0 Stenhousemuir - Pars draw Warriors blank

Dunfermline all but handed the Scottish League One title to Rangers following their first goalless draw of the season at home to Stenhousemuir.

Should the Glasgow giants beat Airdrie at Ibrox on Wednesday evening, then Ally McCoist's men will secure their second league title in as many years after the Pars failed to break down a resolute Stenhousemuir side.

Lawrence Shankland should have put the hosts ahead as early as nine minutes but he fluffed his lines when clean through in what was to be frustrating afternoon for Jim Jefferies' team.

Shankland continued to knock on the door in the second-half but somehow his effort stayed out after Stenhousemuir goalkeeper Chris Smith dropped a corner at his feet before Jonathan Page and Allan Smith all went agonisingly close for the hosts, but it wasn't meant to be.
