Ayr Utd. 5 : 0 Stranraer - Emphatic Ayr end miserable run
Posted Sunday, March 09, 2014 by PA
Ayr ended a run of four straight defeats with an emphatic 5-0 win over 10-man Stranraer.
Michael Moffat notched his first of the game for the hosts from the penalty spot after Scott Rumsby brought down the in-form striker before Craig Malcolm lashed home for a second after 20 minutes.
The Honest men all but wrapped up the points as the interval approached when Mikey Donald burst into the area before guiding the ball into the corner.
Moffat stole the headlines with his second of the game, and 21st of the season, after dancing through the Stranraer defence before the visitors had Frank McKeown sent off as Alan Forrest compounded the Blues misery with a fifth goal on 76 minutes.
