Cowdenbeath vs Alloa Athletic preview - Hemmings out of relegation battle
Posted Saturday, March 08, 2014 by PA
Cowdenbeath will be without Kane Hemmings as they try to drag Alloa into the relegation fight when the sides meet at Central Park.
The strugglers will be without their top scorer due to a hamstring injury
Lewis Milne is in line for a comeback after recovering from a knock and Kenny Adamson returns from suspension. However, Jon Robertson misses out due to a ban of his own.
Manager Jimmy Nicholl said: "We were disappointed at losing to Livingston last weekend so we want to make up for that in this game. We have beaten Raith Rovers and Dundee at home recently and it would be great to add Alloa to that list."
Alloa are without Jason Marr (thigh) and Willie Robertson (toe) as they look to open up an eight-point gap on their hosts.
Manager Barry Smith has instructed his men to start the game well after losing a goal to Hamilton in the opening 30 seconds last Saturday and being 3-0 down before the midway point of the first half.
Smith said: "We went to Morton and Raith Rovers and picked up points because we made a secure start. Against Hamilton we gave a goal away early and paid a heavy price.
"To do anything at Cowdenbeath we have to start the game well."
