Stranraer vs Dunfermline preview - Blues pair sidelined

Stranraer will be without Chris Aitken and Marc Corcoran when they host Dunfermline.

Aitken is sidelined by an ankle injury and Corcoran has a hip problem.

The Blues were beaten 2-0 by Rangers in midweek but manager Stephen Aitken saw plenty of positives..

He said: "We played well and had Rangers pushed back but their goalkeeper Cammy Bell made a couple of fantastic saves in between them scoring.

"The goals we lost were disappointing but if we can get the same type of performance against a Dunfermline side who have beaten us three times this season I will be pleased."

The second-placed East End Park side have Allan Smith missing after a recent bout of tonsillitis with Jordan Moore also ruled out after minor surgery on a leg injury this week.

Ryan Wallace is a doubt with an ankle problem for a game that manager Jim Jefferies would dearly love to win.

Jefferies said: "Stranraer are one of our rivals for second place and a play-off place. If we can beat them we open up a 17-point gap which will take a lot of closing.

"Stranraer have been tough opponents all season but we have managed to get the better of them. Hopefully we can do that for a fourth time."
