Dundee vs Greenock Morton preview - out to avoid upset

Scottish Championship leaders Dundee host bottom club Morton and Iain Davidson after he recovered from a hamstring problem.

Stephen Hughes has dropped out of manager Paul Hartley's plans and rejoined East Fife on loan, with Stephen O'Donnell (knee), Ryan Conroy (groin), Steven Doris (stomach) and Craig Beattie (knee) all still out.

Manager Paul Hartley is looking for his men to bounce back after losing to Cowdenbeath last weekend. He said: "We never performed, it was as simple as that. Our standards dropped and we were punished.

"We are facing another team battling for safety and we need to get back to our best."

Morton, who are growing increasingly isolated at the foot of the table, will be without Dougie Imrie following his sending-off against Alloa last Saturday.

Injuries rule out Nicolas Caraux (ankle), Ben Sampayo (knee) and Reece Hands (pelvis) while David Robertson is a doubt with a hamstring injury, however fit-again David O'Brien returns.

Manager Kenny Shiels said: "Losing to Alloa was really disappointing. Our performance was acceptable but the result was not. We are having lots of possession however we are not converting that into goals and that is costing us.

"There are some very good players up at Dundee but we can win if we take our chances."
