East Fife 0 : 0 Airdrie United - Stalemate at Fife

Neither side was able to claim what would have been an important three points in the relegation battle as East Fife drew 0-0 with Airdrie.

An uninspiring first half saw neither goalkeeper tested, with most of the efforts on goal being from long range and off target.

The second half started brighter, with Liam Buchanan having a good chance to give East Fife the lead, but he scuffed hit shot and did not trouble the keeper.

Jamie Bain went close for the visitors and hit the bar after Greg Paterson flapped under a high ball. Paterson made up for his error shortly after, saving well from another Bain effort.

East Fife had a late penalty shout after Buchanan claimed to have been pulled back, but it was not given leaving Airdrie just three points clear of bottom side Arbroath.
