HE'LL SOON KNOW: England manager Roy Hodgson will soon learn who his team face in the Euro 2016 qualifiers

And Roy Hodgson and the Three Lions could draw debutants Gibraltar.

The British Overseas Territory is involved in a major tournament for the first time, although UEFA have ensured they cannot be drawn against mighty Spain.

That’s for political reasons because the UK are currently involved in a territorial dispute with the Spanish government over the tiny peninsula.

England - as one of the nine top seeds - can also not be pitted against Spain when the draw is made in Nice.

The other teams in Pot 1 who Hodgson’s men will not have to tackle are Germany, Holland, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The European qualifiers, which will see England play home and away fixtures with other countries in their group, will run from September this year to October 2015.

There are now 24 places up for grabs in the Euro finals, following an eight-team expansion by UEFA.

That means all the runners-up in the nine groups will automatically qualify, as well as the best third-placed nation.

France have already qualified as “host” nation, but will still be part of the draw - with their fixtures taking on the status of friendlies.

Republic of Ireland are in pot two, Scotland and Wales are in pot four, while Northern Ireland are in pot five.

The draw should be in safe hands with 13 goalkeeping greats, including former Manchester United stars Fabien Barthez and Peter Schmeichel, helping pick out the groups.
