East Fife vs Airdrie United preview - Four doubts for Fife

Posted Saturday, February 22, 2014 by PA

Stevie Campbell, Joe Mbu, Jonny Stewart and Scott Durie are all struggling to make the East Fife side to face Airdrie.

Scott McBride's hip problem keeps him out of a key game at the foot of the table.

Player-manager Gary Naysmith said: "Airdrie will be well up for this game and we have to match that. They are getting good results and are the form team in the bottom half of the league but we have the capability to win.

"We want to push them further away and a win creates a seven-point gap which is certainly a lot better than just the one."

Airdrie have added former Gretna, Queen of the South and Livingston defender Craig Barr to their squad after he agreed a short-term deal.

The Diamonds also welcome back Jamie Bain from a ban but Grant Evans (ankle), Chris O'Neill (groin), Grant Drummond (knee) and John Boyle (knee) are missing through injury.

Manager Gary Bollan said: "We are on a good run just now and have been rewarded with a move off the bottom spot we had for four months.

"A win over East Fife pulls us to within a point of them with a game in midweek still to play."
