JUAN MATA believes Manchester United's warm weather training trip to Dubai has allowed him to settle into life at the club.

SETTLING IN: Juan Mata feels he is adjusting to life with Manchester United

The Spaniard joined United in a club record £37.1m deal from Chelsea in January and enjoyed a winning debut in a 2-0 victory over Cardiff City at Old Trafford.

However Mata was unable to stop his new club, who have endured a difficult season under new manager David Moyes, sliding to another disappointing loss at Stoke City.

And then a week later, Mata was part of the side that conceded a late goal to draw at home to struggling Fulham.

With United out of the FA Cup, Moyes decided to take his squad on five-day training trip to the Middle East following the goalless draw with Arsenal.

And Mata feels the time spent away from Manchester has helped him get use to United's training methods.

"These kind of breaks always help to make the group even stronger and to switch off a bit from the different competitions and the tight schedule," Mata said.

"Personally, these days are good for me to settle even more in the team and share these moments with my team-mates and also, obviously, to train hard and get used to the new working patterns after just three weeks in the club.

"These are long days, with training sessions and events with sponsors; we spend a lot of time together."Recharged and ready to go! Juan Mata settled at Man Utd after Chelsea upheaval

The United squad were treated to the presence of Argentina legend Diego Maradona during their Monday training session.

Mata was among the players to post a picture of himself and the two time World Cup winner on Twitter.

And the Spain international hopes the trip will help re-energise United ahead of the crucial final period in the league season.

"The club thought a few days of work far from Manchester would be good for us, in order to recharge our batteries with a view to the final stage of the season," Mata said in his official blog.

"Tomorrow we fly back to Manchester to get ready for our next game in the Premiership and we hope to start a good run of results."
