Cagliari vs Livorno preview - Rossettini: Only a win will do

Cagliari defender Luca Rossettini has stressed they will settle for nothing less than a win against relegation rivals Livorno on Saturday.

The Sardinians, currently eight points clear of third bottom Livorno, fell 1-0 at Sampdoria in the last round to concede their fourth loss in five league games.

"It will definitely be a tough game this weekend," Rossettini said.

"We are still annoyed that we lost in Genoa because we had our chances to win and we were unlucky.

"Livorno is a strong team and we will have to give it our all to win.

"Our aim is to avoid making mistakes and (we) look to take as many points as possible."

Cagliari coach Diego Lopez is hoping to have Colombian striker Victor Ibarbo available for selection with Chilean forward Mauricio Pinilla doubtful with an ankle injury.

Ibarbo returned to training this week having undergone an appendicitis operation last month.

Moreover, midfielder Daniele Dessena returns from suspension.

Rivals Livorno also go into the encounter at the Sant' Elia stadium frustrated by last weekend's reverse to Genoa.

The Amaranto lost 1-0 despite having plenty of opportunities to earn three points.

"There was only one team playing in that game and it was us," Livorno coach Domenico Di Carlo said. "We tried everything with four fantastic opportunities to equalise.

"It's a shame that we couldn't earn a point but we must look forward with optimism."

Livorno have won just one of their last 10 league games and are 18th in the standings, one place and one point adrift of safety.

The Tuscan outfit has the second leakiest defence in the competition with 41 goals given away in 23 games.

The visitors will have all their players available with the exception of injured striker Luca Siligardi.
