Dundee moved to the top of the Scottish Championship with a 1-0 win over nine-man Hamilton in manager Paul Hartley's first game in charge.
Dundee, under the leadership of Hartley following Billy Brown's departure, took the lead in the sixth minute when Willie Dyer found Martin Boyle in the centre of the penalty area. The striker's shot beat Kevin Cuthbert and nestled in the bottom right-hand corner for his first goal for the club.
Hamilton substitute Stephen Hendrie was dismissed for serious foul play six minutes after the interval, having only come on in the 25th minute for Jesus Garcia Tena as part of a tactical shake up by player/manager Alex Neil.
Defender Ziggy Gordon soon followed after he was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence in the 62nd minute.
