East Fife 1 : 3 Dunfermline - Pars too strong for Fife
Posted Sunday, February 02, 2014 by PA
Ross Forbes and Danny Grainger both scored on their debuts as Dunfermline beat East Fife 3-1.
The visitors had a good opportunity to take the lead when they were awarded a spot-kick in the fourth minute after Gary Naysmith had handled in the box. Debutant Forbes stepped up to take the penalty but his effort was kept out by Fifers goalkeeper Greg Paterson.
Forbes made amends in the 44th minute when he scored his first goal for the club from close range.
The Pars doubled their lead in the 75th minute when Ryan Wallace fired in from the middle of the area before Danny Grainger sent the ball under Paterson to score on his debut two minutes later.
East Fife pulled one back in the 78th minute when Paul Willis drilled the ball into the back of the net from the centre of the box.
