Dundee vs Alloa Athletic preview - Dees wait for green light on winger

Posted Saturday, February 01, 2014 by PA

Dundee will add former Aylesbury United winger Sean Bonnett-Johnson to their side against Alloa, if international clearance is received in time.

Goalkeeper Kyle Letheren is banned after being dismissed against Falkirk last weekend so Dan Twarzdik will be between the sticks. Nicky Riley (calf), Stephen O'Donnell (knee), Iain Davidson (hamstring) and Craig Beattie (knee) also miss out.

Assistant manager Ray Farningham said: "Our defeat last weekend was the first time this season that we have suffered back-to-back defeats so it is very important that we bounce back against Alloa.

"It is a crucial game in our season."

Former Dundee boss Barry Smith begins his career as Alloa manager and he will be unable to select suspended striker Kevin Cawley and the injured Jason Marr (thigh).

Smith said: "It is quite ironic that my first game is against Dundee but it is not about me it is about Alloa winning. I am delighted to be a manager again and I will be delighted if we win the three points."

"I know this division well and I cannot wait to get started. My priority is to ensure that Alloa stay in this league and getting something from Dundee would be a great start."
