Chievo vs Parma preview - Chievo form pleases Corini

Chievo coach Eugenio Corini has urged his side to maintain their improved form ahead of Sunday's visit of Parma.

The Verona outfit head into the game at the Marc' Antonio Bentegodi stadium on the back of Monday's 1-1 draw at Inter Milan.

The result in Milan followed their goalless result against Cagliari and lifted Chievo two places and one point clear of the drop zone.

"We played a great game at Inter," Corini said. "We put a top team like Inter under pressure with our aggression and our style of football.

"I am very pleased with how my players are performing. We are improving game by game and this is a good sign.

"We have to keep working hard and maintain this level of play.

"If the season was over today we would be saved. But our journey is still long and arduous.

"We nevertheless have a lot of will to achieve our aim as soon as possible."

Rivals Parma go into the encounter in Verona on the back of a 2-1 midweek loss at Lazio in the Coppa Italia.

The outcome in Rome was Parma's first reverse of 2014.

Parma coach Roberto Donadoni insisted: "We deserved to go through but this is football. I'm nevertheless satisfied with my team's performance."

The Ducale club turn their attention to Serie A, where they have won their last two league games, a 3-1 triumph over Torino which followed a 3-0 success at Livorno that lifted them to eighth place.

The visitors will be hoping Carvalho Amauri can keep up his goalscoring form having struck three times in the last two league games.

Parma welcome back defender Mattia Cassani from suspension, while Chievo will be bolstered by the return of midfielder Luca Rigoni from a ban of his own.
