Getafe vs Real Sociedad preview - look to halt losing run

Getafe defender Sergio Escudero is determined to help his side end their five-game losing streak when they host Real Sociedad on Sunday.
Luis Garcia's side were eliminated from the Copa del Rey in mid-week, losing 6-0 to Barcelona on aggregate, and have lost all of their last five league games, culminating in a home defeat to relegation-threatened Rayo Vallecano last weekend.
Despite their recent worrying run of form, the Madrid outfit are 11th in the Primera Division table and Escudero insists they are ready to turn things around on the pitch.
"We have put what happened in the cup behind us, that's water under the bridge, and what's important now is to get three points that will help us climb the table," he said.
Even though Sunday's opponents Sociedad are fighting to get back into the Champions League next season, the defender believes Getafe have got what it takes to win.
"We have a team that is capable of beating anyone," he said.
Pedro Mosquera is a doubt for the hosts with an ankle problem, but Alexis Ruano, who suffered an inflamed testicle during the defeat to Barcelona on Thursday, is expected to be back to face Sociedad.
The Basques head to Madrid having qualified for the quarter finals of the Copa del Rey for the first time in 21 years after narrowly defeating Villarreal 1-0 over two legs, but they were crushed 5-1 by the same opponents in their last league game.
Coach Jagoba Arrasate is likely to be without his first choice centre-half pairing, with Mikel Gonzalez a doubt owing to a muscle injury and Inigo Martinez suspended.
"La Real are in good form, but they will come here with extra motivation after the defeat to Villarreal," said Escudero.
But the defender added: "We are also motivated about beating them."
