Graham Hay fired in his third goal of the season to secure Brechin's 3-1 win at Ayr.

The away side went ahead after 12 minutes through an unstoppable Gerard McLauchlan header that found the top corner.

And they cemented their dominance of the first half after 32 minutes when the ball went in off unfortunate Ayr defender Kyle McAusland.

Ayr rallied in the second half, but Kevin Kyle put a header wide.

And they were back in the game with 11 minutes remaining after Gordon Pope swept home Michael Moffat's cross.

Brechin stood firm and were given a chance to secure the win in injury time when Alan Lithgow brought down Derek Carcary.

Hay made no mistake, hammering down the middle to give Brechin a second straight win.
