Stranraer 4 : 0 Ayr Utd. preview - Grehan at the double for Stranraer
Posted Sunday, January 05, 2014 by PA
Martin Grehan netted twice as Stranraer cruised to a 4-0 win over fellow play-off hopefuls Ayr.
The hosts took the lead against the run of play in the 14th minute when Sean Winter steered the ball past Ayr shot-stopper David Hutton from the middle of the area.
The lead was doubled shortly after the half-hour mark when Grehan scored from the spot after he had been bundled over in the box by Alan Lithgow.
Grehan made it 3-0 two minutes after the break, firing in from close range following good work from Andrew Stirling.
Stranraer increased their advantage two minutes later when Stirling found the bottom corner from the centre of the box.
