Hamilton FC vs Queen of South preview - Accies without Neil
Posted Friday, January 03, 2014 by PA
Hamilton player/manager Alex Neil misses out against Queen of the South after undergoing a hernia operation earlier this week.
Jon McShane is in an injury doubt and the Accies also miss the suspended Darian MacKinnon and Jonathan Routledge who has a knee injury.
Neil is not overly concerned about falling five points behind leaders Dundee who won 2-0 at Raith Rovers on Thursday.
"We will do what we have been doing all season and this is concentrate on ourselves," he said.
"We got back on track with a win over Morton last week and we want to add to that by seeing off Queen's but it will be a tough."
Queen of the South miss midfielder Derek Young due to a toe injury with Daniel Orsi dropping out after leaving the club this week.
The Doonhamers have lost to their hosts twice in the Championship, however they did knock the Accies out of the William Hill Scottish Cup and they are travelling with confidence.
Manager Jim McIntyre said: "We have shown against both Hamilton and Dundee that we can compete with the sides at the top of the table.
"We won 2-0 at Cowdenbeath last Saturday and that result is better appreciated after they beat Alloa.
"These factors mean that we can look forward to facing Hamilton."
