East Fife vs Brechin City preview - Naysmith hoping for winning start

Gary Naysmith will look to celebrate being named as the permanent manager of East Fife by building on the two wins he secured as interim manager with victory against Brechin.

The former Scotland international has Gary Thom available after a ban, while Paul Willis could be included for the first time in four months after recovering from an ankle injury.

Naysmith said: "Six points from six is a decent start, however I am after more points and further moves up the table.

"Brechin will look to move back above us with a win so we have to keep performing in the manner we have been."

Brechin miss both Greg Cameron and Darren Petrie through suspension, while manager Ray McKinnon has doubts over Jonny Brown and Ewan Moyes.

Brechin won 4-3 against Airdrie in midweek in a game where they lost a three-goal lead before scoring an injury time winner, leaving McKinnon with mixed feelings.

He said: "There were a lot of positives and a lot of negatives. When we attacked we looked really good but defensively we were poor at times.

"East Fife are a decent side who will be boosted by Gary Naysmith coming in so we cannot afford another poor defensive display."
