Stenhousemuir vs Airdrie United preview - Higgins poised for comeback

Stenhousemuir hope to have striker Sean Higgins available to face Airdrie following nearly two months on the sidelines due to a groin injury.

Ross Brash (foot) and Darren Smith (knee) are still missing as the Warriors look to bounce back from a frustrating period.

Manager Martyn Corrigan said: "Against East Fife a fortnight ago our application was not good enough and we lost.

"Last week our live TV game with Rangers was postponed, so it has been a disappointing time.

"The players know that if we go about things the right way we can win and they will have to as Gary Bollan is instilling a strong spirit into Airdrie."

Bottom-of-the-table Airdrie will be without full-back Paddy Boyle after he suffered a gashed knee against Brechin in midweek.

Manager Bollan is also without Chris O'Neill (groin), Grant Evans (ankle), Grant Drummond and John Boyle (both knee) as his men look to bounce back from losing to a stoppage-time goal in a 4-3 defeat at Glebe Park.

Bollan said: "While it was disappointing to lose, the players showed a lot of character to come back from three goals down to 3-3.

"While it was poor to lose a goal as soon as we had done that, everyone has taken a boost from the performance that got us level."
