Queen of South vs Livingston preview - Paton doubt for Doonhamers

Queen of the South striker Michael Paton will face a lunchtime fitness test on his hamstring injury ahead of the visit of Livingston to Palmerston Park.

Derek Young remains out with a toe injury as the Doonhamers look for the win that will take them above their opponents in the table.

Manager Jim McIntyre said: "We have to look at this as a chance to get three points as we are at home. We beat Dumbarton a fortnight ago and have been looking to build on that but the abandonment of last Saturday's game with Falkirk prevented that happening.

"Hopefully we can do that now against a decent Livingston side."

Livingston are again without Mike Mampuya, who has a knee problem, as they look to stretch their unbeaten run in the Championship to four games.

Manager John McGlynn reckons there will be goals in the game.

"Both sides like to play attacking football and there are good strikers in both sides," he said. "Andrew Barrowman and Marc McNulty have been great for us and hopefully they will help us to a win.

"Last Saturday's game with Hamilton was a bit farcical because of the weather, however my players showed resilience in difficult conditions. The conditions may be better this time but I am looking for the same resilience."
